Yoga Style

YogaVidya combines Iyengar and Astanga styles to build strength, flexibility and balance through physical poses.

 

Our Yoga classes in Newcastle focus on physical (Asana) practice and introduce breath (Pranayama) and core strength (Bhanda). The Yoga class ends with 10 minutes of relaxation.

 

Vidya yoga classes take elements from different styles.

Iyengar - a static form focused on precise body alignment

Astanga - a dynamic form moving with the breath 

 

The Dynamic Yoga style gives beginners a strong grounding in body alignment in the poses (to avoid yoga injury) and builds strength quickly.

Qualifications

 

Carolyn has been practising yoga for over 20 years.

 

British Wheel of Yoga Teachers Diploma recognised by Sport England. 

 

She also has a PhD so expect a strong focus on the physiology of yoga
