YogaVidya combines Iyengar and Astanga styles to build strength, flexibility and balance.
Our yoga sessions in Newcastle focus on physical (Asana) practice and introduce breath (Pranayama) and core (Bhanda). The session ends with 10 minutes of mindfulness.
YogaVidya classes take elements from 2 styles.
Iyengar - static form with precise body alignment
Astanga - dynamic form moving with the breath
YogaVidya's dynamic style gives beginners a strong grounding in body alignment in the poses (to avoid yoga injury) and builds strength quickly.
Carolyn has been practicing yoga for over 25 years and has a British Wheel of Yoga teaching certificate. She also has a PhD in cell biology so expect a strong focus on yoga physiology
