Yoga and Climbing
Yoga builds core strength, flexibility and balance making it a great complement to climbing.
Shoulders are a common problem area for climbers. The focus on pulling can lead to rounded shoulders with reduced outward rotation.Yoga can help by stretching the lats and pectorals while strengthening the lower trapezius which oppose the lats. Balancing these muscles may improve stability and increase reach.
A flowing sequence of poses in which the breath is co-ordinated with the movement. Its an ideal warm-up or a quick practice. This is a traditional version taken from the Bihar School of Yoga.
